A riveting firsthand account of one man’s mission to investigate and document some of the most astonishing phenomena of our time—children who speak of past life memory and reincarnation. All across the globe, small children spontaneously speak of previous lives, beg to be taken “home,” pine for mothers and husbands and mistresses from another life, and know things that there seems to be no normal way for them to know. From the moment these children can talk, they speak of people and events from the past—not vague stories of centuries ago, but details of specific, identifiable individuals who may have died just months, weeks, or even hours before the birth of the child in question. For thirty-seven years, Dr. Ian Stevenson has traveled the world from Lebanon to suburban Virginia investigating and documenting more than two thousand of these past life memory cases. Now, his essentially unknown work is being brought to the mainstream by Tom Shroder, the first journalist to have the privilege of accompanying Dr. Stevenson in his fieldwork. Shroder follows Stevenson into the lives of children and families touched by this phenomenon, changing from skeptic to believer as he comes face-to-face with concrete evidence he cannot discount in this spellbinding and true story.

From Brian McDonald and Les McClaine comes Old Souls, a supernatural graphic novel about addiction, obsession, and the things we do for family. Chris Olsen has a good life. He has a regular job, a wife and daughter who love him, and a promising future. By any measure this is a good life, but it isn’t his first. When a troubling encounter with a homeless man triggers something inside Chris, memories of his past lives bubble to the surface. A lost Chinese boy, a wailing grandmother, and a love so powerful it never left his soul—all compete for his attention. Chris sinks deep into the seedy and seductive world of “grave robbers,” vagrants known for their ability to relive their former lives. But can he find closure to a tragic episode in his past without losing himself in the process?

A Best Book of the Year The Boston Globe, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and The Denver Post In the familiar setting of Holt, Colorado, home to all of Kent Haruf's inimitable fiction, Addie Moore pays an unexpected visit to a neighbor, Louis Waters. Her husband died years ago, as did his wife, and in such a small town they naturally have known of each other for decades; in fact, Addie was quite fond of Louis's wife. His daughter lives hours away, her son even farther, and Addie and Louis have long been living alone in empty houses, the nights so terribly lonely, especially with no one to talk with. But maybe that could change? As Addie and Louis come to know each other better--their pleasures and their difficulties--a beautiful story of second chances unfolds, making Our Souls at Night the perfect final installment to this beloved writer's enduring contribution to American literature.

What if the history of America's largest Indian nation is actually a polite modern fiction, one invented by "anthropologists and other friends"? In this sweeping revisionist study of the Cherokee Indians, a scholar trained in classical philology and the new science of genetics discloses the inside story of his tribe. Combining evidence from historical records, esoteric sources like the Keetoowah and Shalokee Warrior Society, archeology, linguistics, religion, myth, sports and music, and DNA, this first new take on the subject in a hundred years guides the reader, ever so surely, into the secret annals of the Eshelokee, whose true name and origins have remained hidden until now. The narrative starts in the third century BCE and concludes with the Cherokees' removal to Indian Territory in the nineteenth century, when all standard histories just begin. The ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Jews, Romans and Phoenicians have long departed from the world stage. The Cherokee remain after more than two thousand years and are their heirs.

Many of us yearn to live out our highest potential but can’t seem to make it happen. External circumstances such as money, the right job, or family demands seem to get in the way. But what if our greatest challenge to fulfillment wasn’t an external obstacle but rather an internal one? And what if it didn’t have anything to do with this lifetime, but a previous incarnation? This is the radical message Ainslie MacLeod shares in The Transformation. In this empowering new approach to healing, Ainslie teaches us how to identify our past-life fears and then transform them into opportunities for growth and spiritual development. Join this renowned psychic to explore: The ten most common past-life fears—and how each one contains the seed of its own healing More than a dozen spiritual acts and exercises to help you move toward fulfillment and joy in this lifetime Reaching “Stage-Four Consciousness”—the next evolutionary step our souls are striving to take How the human species is “clearing out” our collective past-life traumas to make way for a global transformation Ainslie’s spirit guides suggest that we are standing on the brink of the greatest leap in human consciousness in 55,000 years. For each of us to take an active part in this shift, we must learn how to release the fears our souls have accumulated over many lifetimes, while retaining the essential wisdom that each incarnation has given us. Rich with practical techniques and compelling stories, The Transformation is a fresh examination of one of the most critical yet often overlooked elements of spiritual awakening. Ainslie MacLeod has used his talents as a psychic to explore the soul and its effects on human beliefs and behavior for more than a decade. The author of The Instruction, Ainslie was a featured teacher on “Oprah’s Soul Series.” Currently, he teaches at the Omega Institute and Kripalu. Originally from Aberdeen, Scotland, he now offers guidance to clients worldwide from his home in the Pacific Northwest.

Book of Souls picks up the action a year after the conclusion of the international sensation Library of the Dead. Will Piper’s life has been forever changed by the astonishing secret he discovered hidden at the government’s clandestine installation deep under the Nevada desert. His uneasy retirement from the FBI is interrupted when a long-missing book surfaces at an auction house in London. A group of ex-Area 51 employees recruits Will to assist them in obtaining the book and in helping them solve a mystery that will affect the fate of all mankind. As government operatives try to stop him, Will discovers the ancient missing volume has had a profound effect on history. Remarkably, a newly found puzzle sonnet by a young William Shakespeare seems to have been inspired by the book. As Will peels back the onion to solve a series of clues hidden in the poem, he finds the book has influenced not only Shakespeare but also the religious philosophy of John Calvin, the father of predestination, and the prophesies of the seer Nostradamus. When the final clue yields the ultimate secret, Will is forced to confront a truth which humanity may not be prepared to accept.
