It was originally published by The Crossing Press in 2000 and became one of their best selling books. Readers say, "This is the first time feng shui made sense." This new edition is greatly revised and expanded to include more illustrations, situations, solutions, and success stories. One of the most useful new sections is the Checklist for Moving. Feng Shui Demystified is one of the The book explains why certain environments are conducive to harmony, prosperity, and health, and how to create those environments. It teaches how to minimize conflicts and arguments by avoiding the factors that signify their presence in your life. The book examines the many obstacles that prevent a person from reaching their highest potential. It shows how to develop conscious awareness of the obstacles, minimize their effect, and remove them when possible. It explores the energy and symbolism of objects and how those aspects affect their placement. It is especially sensitive to renters who often have very little control over their home. Feng Shui Demystified is one of the The writing is concise and powerful. When a problem is described, multiple solutions are always suggested. It explains the feng shui rules while encouraging you to cultivate your intuition and act on it. Author Clear Englebert draws from his own experience as a feng shui consultant to walk you through your home (and yard, and workplace, and even the car) with a consultant's eye. You will learn to observe how chi (Universal Energy) flows in and around your home—where it is vibrant, where it stagnates, and where it picks up a negative charge. The book is a practical how-to guide rich with specific advice, including evocative explanations of the symbolic thought underlying feng shui concepts. The emphasis is on those concepts most accessible to the Western mind, and on those solutions most available to the modern reader.

Cate Bramble has devoted her career to highlighting the differences between 'feng shui-lite' as a fashionable pursuit in contrast to the original intentions of the Chinese masters. Here she presents the authentic principles in a technical, no-nonsense pocket book specifically for architects. As clients become more demanding and the competition for projects heats up, the architect is well advised to have many strings to their bow. This practical guide includes line illustrations that present the principles of feng shui, the Chinese art or practice in which a structure or site is chosen or configured so as to harmonize with the spiritual forces that inhabit it, and their application in architecture through planning principles, services, building elements and materials, in an accessible, easy reference format. The feng shui-savvy architect can also benefit from feng shui's ability to match structures and land, and the peculiar capacity of authentic feng shui to forecast development-related concerns including cost overruns, quality issues - even worker injuries and trade disputes! The author explains feng shui from archaeological sources and evidence of practice in the east, contrasting it with what passes for feng shui in the west. She analyses the practice in terms of such concepts as western systems theory, viewshed, space syntax and the 'pattern landscape' theory of urban planning. For the first time, the Sustainable implications of feng shui design are explained with reference to the latest developments in behavioural and cognitve sciences, evolutionary biology and other western viewpoints.

Bedroom Feng Shui was a best-seller when The Crossing Press first published it in 2001. It is now available in a revised, expanded edition. In feng shui, the bedroom is the most important room. It has the most influence in a person’s life, because of the amount of time spent there, a third of a lifetime. For many people the bedroom is the only room that is theirs. The book explains everything a person needs to know when applying feng shui to their bedroom. People sense that the location of the bed is important and wonder, “Is my bed in the best location?” The main factors in making that decision are the location of the doors, windows, and bathrooms, as well as any features on the ceiling such as beams or ceiling fans. Many different types of beds are evaluated, as well as the bedding and any other fabric in the room. Various furniture choices are discussed, especially since some bedrooms must be multifunctional. Many optional solutions are offered when problem situations are mentioned. Every object commonly in bedrooms (clocks, rugs, lamps...) is carefully discussed. Some items are too yang (such as mirrors) and should be used sparingly, and too many items make the room too yin and stifle the energy. The various details, such as color, texture, lighting, and artwork, that help a bedroom support sound sleep, are thoroughly covered. “No detail is overlooked,” says author Susan Levitt. Chapters are devoted to special bedrooms such as children's rooms, studio apartments, and guestrooms. Even the bathroom is covered, since it is often adjacent to a bedroom. The feng shui bagua is thoroughly explained, telling the location and use of the Wealth Corner and the Relationship Corner, which are famous, for good reason, in feng shui. Harmony and prosperity are often the main reasons people first try feng shui. This book is based on Form School feng shui, not Compass School. Form School could be called the common sense school, because it is based on the form or shape of objects. The book does not discuss lucky directions or numbers, which are not a concern in Form School. Bedroom Feng Shui is for beginners as well as for those with more feng shui knowledge. If someone has studied feng shui, they are aware of the power of the bedroom, and will appreciate the attention to detail in this book.

Men are purchasing more clothes, shoes, health and beauty products, and personal care services than ever before. The world of men’s retail has remained a kind of bug in amber, frozen in time, with the same century-old style of merchandising and selling. A store must not simply provide, but educate the male customer, who is growing hungry for something more than the usual Blue Plate Special of khakis and polo shirts. To better attract this new wave of interested consumers, products in the U.S. must be merchandised and sold in a completely different manner. The design and branding of a man’s store ought to make men want to go shopping. Branding the Man offers retailers, buyers, and marketers strategic solutions to revolutionize men’s retail via some relatively simple conceptual strategies. Author Bertrand Pellegrin utilizes his years as a retail strategist to help retailers understand classic men’s environments–ones where men are most naturally inclined to spend time–and leverage the opportunities which arise from these “comfort zones” to engage and sell to the male customer. Branding the Man immerses the reader in a discussion of men’s retail environments spanning every level: store design, buying/sourcing, merchandising, marketing and advertising, and promotion and lays out a blueprint for how men can be developed as the “next frontier” in retail. Allworth Press, an imprint of Skyhorse Publishing, publishes a broad range of books on the visual and performing arts, with emphasis on the business of art.
